The representatives of the 10 municipalities have signed a manifesto creating a network to claim quality tourism and more support for rural areas
During this weekend the award ceremony of the Contest organized by the prestigious specialized portal 'www.EscapadaRural.com', where Moratalla was a finalist and achieved a relevant fifth place, was held in the town of Aínsa-Sobrarbe.
The mayor of Moratalla received from the hand of the founders of this web portal, Gus and Fabio, the plaque that corresponds to our municipality the fifth position of this annual contest.
Jesús Amo took advantage of the presence of numerous representatives of different municipalities and councils throughout Spain, as well as businessmen, entrepreneurs and partners in the sector to highlight the Drum Festival of Moratalla, and the mayor of Ainsa, Enrique Pueyo, with the gift of a traditional string drum in addition to promoting future visits to our town.
The environment among the ten participating towns turned out to be very good, to the point of creating a network among these municipalities as a laboratory of ideas with the aim of creating a greater twinning between them and seeking alternatives and aid for the promotion of rural tourism.
This network established under the Manifesto 'Network of Finalist Locations to the Capital of Rural Tourism' intends to work towards three points of action.
On the one hand, the promotion, conservation and synergies in the field of cultural heritage are sought, on the other hand generate a type of sustainable tourism and directed towards ecotourism, and finally act against one of the fundamental remains as a country facing Spain with the strong Depopulation in rural areas, where more than 4,000 villages are at risk of disappearing.
In this sense, the manifesto calls for support for new initiatives and rural tourism as a cohesive element and future producer for these small municipalities.
The Mayor of Moratalla, Jesús Amo, thanked "the great reception in Huesca of all the municipalities that we have participated and, of course, to EscapadaRural.com for converting Moratalla finalist of the contest. I feel a lot of pride and gratitude to the thousands of people who voted for us and I think that this initiative is one of the biggest impulses to our municipality in the field of tourism, since millions of people have interacted with this contest and have been able to know the great offer of rural tourism, natural, gastronomic and cultural that both Moratalla and its districts offer our visitors. "
