On the occasion of the "8th of March, International Women's Day" Moratalla City Council from the Department of Women launches the campaign "Feminism does not bite."
A campaign committed to the struggle for equality that seeks to demythologize that feminism is the opposite of machismo and that is also a matter that only concerns women.
One of the actions of this campaign has been to bring to the leisure spaces tools for reflection on equality is referred to under the motto "Maybe you are and you do not know."
To this end, it has been requested the collaboration of workers in the service sector of our locality so that they are agents of change with a simple gesture, to place next to each coffee that they serve in its establishment a notita with messages on the feminism and therefore on the Equality, such as "You think women and men should receive the same wage for the same work," You think men and women deserve the same rights and opportunities, "You think women should have rights over their own body," etc.
It is worth mentioning the collaboration of the Local Television of Moratalla for the elaboration of a special program taking into account the message and content of the campaign and the collaborating agents.
As an act of closing the campaign, not fighting, on March 12 will be a day of coexistence and the act "Feminism does not bite" in the Theater Trieta de Moratalla.
Act in which different groups and / or associations will participate by exposing through their testimonies how they have contributed their bit in the struggle for equality.
We will also have the participation of two chirigotas, the "Chirigota de Beniaján" and the chirigota "Las Chochonis", these last winners of the XV Regional Competition of Chirigotas City of Cartagena 2017. Entry to the event is free.
