IES Pedro García Aguilera dismisses the exhibition "Women mathematics."
This exhibition has been loaned by the Museum of Science and Water Murcia, and has been managed from the Equality Authority of the City of Moratalla.
The main objective of the exhibition is "Visualize the role of women in the scientific world, as well as raise awareness of cultural and social difficulties faced by many women to engage in the world of mathematics.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the life of fourteen women dedicated to mathematics, showing their contributions to the field of science and highlighting the cultural and social difficulties faced to be able to develop his true passion.
The exhibition also has a games section, which seeks to demonstrate competence and mastery of the / as players / as when solving various logic games, combination, probability, etc.
The school pupils have been enjoying this exhibition from 18 to 22 October under the coordination and explanatory work of the Department of Mathematics of the center.
This action is part of the planned activities in the first Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men of the municipality, where it intends to work in the area of education and culture, and thus encourage a greater presence of women in life cultural and publicize the work done by women.
Moratalla City Council from the Department of Education, Culture and Women and the Equality Authority, welcomes the involvement of the Center for Secondary Education "D. Pedro Garcia Aguilera (teachers, students ...) in this action for equality.
