Development awards the paving of the road surface Benizar (08/06/2015)

The overall improvement of the road includes the widening of the platform, expanding and improving drainage and road paving

The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning has awarded the contract for the execution of the paving of the pavement of the RM-B30 road, which connects the hamlet of Benizar (Moratalla) with RM-715 highway in the province Albacete.

The cost of the work, which has a deadline of one month amounts to 194 584 euros.

This project will focus on a stretch of that road, particularly between mile markers 3 and 6, at the height of Benizar, which, with 1,200 inhabitants, has a high traffic intensity with the municipality of Moratalla.

This work is part of a comprehensive improvement of the RM-B30 road, aimed at widening the current platform in the section provided, as well as the expansion and improvement of drainage and road paving.

The main objective of this work is to improve the characteristics of the pavement, especially the sliding resistance between it and the vehicle tires and regularity, factors that have a direct impact on traffic safety and comfort on the road.

To do this, on the previous platform was paved with asphalt, which will provide it with a modern, comfortable and safe strong.

Its width is 7 meters, two separate lanes of 3 meters each and hard shoulders of 0.50 meters understanding.

Both sides of this pavement are filled with artificial gravel berms two 0.25 meters in order to allow the implementation of the vertical signage and marking also necessary to protect the edges of the pavement.

In this phase, 3,888 tons of hot asphalt mix with barren porphyry and 187 tons of bitumen, in addition to 10,176 linear meters of horizontal paint is used.

Complete improvement of the road

The complete performance improvement, estimated overall budget is 300,000 euros, is being carried out through three distinct phases, of which the first two have already been implemented almost entirely.

The first phase consisted of the widening of the road platform, which has gone from 5 to 7.50 meters.

Thus, you can have a 6-meter carriageway and shoulders of 0.50 meters, all with asphalt and berms of 0.25 meters on each side.

In the second phase we proceeded to the extension and improvement works to existing water passage and to introduce new water passages that allow more effectively permeate the road.
